Tiwi Footy Book
Tiwi footballers are renowned for their silky skills and instinctive playing style, yet they come from a tiny island community perched precariously off Australia's remote northern coast.
How did they come to be so good? And why do they have such a passion for the game? The answer lies somewhere in their extraordinary history and unique culture, and the way a few football-obsessed missionaries turned the game into something akin to a religious ceremony. On Tiwi Grand Final Day, the people gather for the biggest ceremony of them all.
